The Home Quarantine System (HQS) is a mobile application available for Android and iOS devices; the proprietary development of Asura Technologies which allows authorities to automatically check home quarantined people’s compliance with quarantine rules and to continuously monitor their state of health. The aim of the development was to provide relief for the local police force handling quarantine checks manually.
The system consists of an end-user smart phone app and the administrator interface. Quarantined persons are required to download the app to carry out remote check-ins as proof that they do not leave the quarantine address. Users may also fill daily medical check questionnaires enabling medical professionals to keep track of their state of health.
The authorities monitor the operation through the administrator interface listing quarantined people, automatically notifying the operator of missed check-ins and helping in the prediction of the strain on local healthcare capacities imposed by patients.
The system serves as the official quarantine application of Hungary during the COVID-19 pandemic.
