Parking Compliance

The Challenge

Prior to 2021, PRRS was primarily engaged in parking notice fee collection, a process that involved recovering payments and cooperating with various operational staff to gather evidence of unauthorized parking for each individual session. This process was not only burdensome for employees but also inefficient, as the attendants could only monitor the lots for a fraction of the day. Consequently, the number of identified non-compliance cases were restricted to these timeframes and the revenue collected was relatively low.

Asura’s Innovative Solution

Recognizing the need for automated monitoring, PRRS was initially uncertain about which provider to choose in a vast market they were unfamiliar with. Fortunately, they decided to explore a novel approach: AI-based video analytics. After a brief consultation period, Asura proposed a collaborative effort to develop a modular solution that combined 24/7 touchless monitoring technology with automated elements of the compliance process. This led to the creation of the Automatic Real-time Compliance (ARC) package, a multi-level solution that has proven beneficial for both operators and PRRS.

Project Highlights

Now in our fourth year of collaboration with PRRS, ARC has become the company’s flagship product. Each new installation reaffirms that ARC significantly enhances the efficiency of parking operators by unlocking new revenue streams, providing insights into lot activity, and offering opportunities to improve the parking experience to encourage compliance.
